Alliance Alert Prints Answers to Commissioner Q&A
La Verne, Calif., Oct. 24, 2006—The Alliance of Insurance Agents and Brokers has posed questions to the candidates for California Insurance Commissioner, the results of which it has printed on the front page of its Oct. 23, 2006, Alliance Alert newsletter.
Candidates Assemblyman Steve Poizner and Lt. Gov. Cruz Bustamante answered eight questions that included:
What makes you qualified to be Insurance Commissioner?
Do you have an agenda?
Do you view the role as an insurer of a competitive marketplace or a zealous consumer advocate?
The winner of the Nov. 7 election will replace current Insurance Commissioner John Garamendi, who has been viewed as working against the interests of the agent and broker community.
“As agents and brokers who have often been adversely affected by policies of the outgoing administration, and as citizens of the state of California, it is critical to understand where the candidates stand on these important issues,” said Alliance President Gary Jensen, owner of Fox Insurance Services, of Camarillo, Calif. “These questions provide valuable insight into the direction each would take if elected to the office.”
A link to the Alliance Alert is posted on the home page of the Alliance’s Web site, www.agentsalliance.com.
